Today at the Los Angeles auto show, Volkswagen's revealing a zero-emissions fuel-cell hybrid concept car that combines a hydrogen fuel cell with a mess of lithium-ion batteries, a plug-in charger and a roof-mounted solar panel. It's called the Space Up! Blue Hybrid, and all it's missing is a diesel engine to have all fuel-economy bases covered.
